Microsoft Secure Access Implementation
AN MDS SECURITY SUCCESS STORY
MDS implemented Identity & Access Management tools for a retail and manufacturing company.
The Challenge
The customer, with 350 users, needed a solution to protect against comprised employee user credentials in order to secure the network. They also wanted to allow only authorized employees to access company systems, applications, and data.
They hired MDS to develop and implement a solution that would help solve this problem but could be easily integrated into their existing investments.
The Solution
After evaluating their existing environment, MDS implemented Microsoft Azure Active Directory with Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multifactor Authentication (MFA) in order to prompt user credentials with an additional security requirement as opposed to their normal username and password. These Microsoft security products were the preferred choice since the company was already utilizing an array of Microsoft solutions.
The Result
The customer immediately began to block threats and login attempts to compromised user credentials. The customer now has more control over who is accessing which systems, applications, and data. Their security engineers are able to monitor and control this activity in order to provide the extra layer of security needed to block unknown risky user access.
MDS was able to save the customer money by implementing Microsoft Azure Active Directory and provide them with a secure Identity & Access Management (IAM) solution by leveraging existing licenses the customer was already paying for but had not previously taken advantage of.
MDS and Microsoft IAM solutions gave us more control over user and employee access to company data. This has been a critical backbone for building our cyber security maturity framework.
