AN MDS MICROSOFT SECURITY SUCCESS STORY
MDS implemented a Microsoft security strategy for an insurance and wealth management company.
The Challenge
The customer with over 8,000 employees wanted to elevate their security posture, while also consolidating vendors. By looking at their security and compliance strategy, they realized they needed to have better control over which employees view which systems and data.
The client also had some legacy Ivanti software that they wanted to replace in a cost-effective way.
The Solution
Since the client already had existing Microsoft 365 E5 licensing purchased on their Enterprise Agreement (EA), MDS recommended the best way to consolidate vendors and save money was implementing Microsoft security solutions. MDS recommended and deployed co-managed System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Microsoft Intune. These technologies would also be a good replacement for their legacy Avanti software.
The Result
The customer was able to successfully patch and manage over 9,000 endpoints with these solutions. This implementation has made the client much more comfortable with who is access what tools and data, but also in their overall security posture.
This also allowed for secure patching in the COVID-19 remote work setting, which was previously not possible. It set the client up for remote access and security.
